SMART Power Sports is the new name of SMART Recreational Parts!
SMART Recreational Parts was started in 2002 as a winter "hobby", a mail-order only business run out of a large garage half converted to office space. Before long it was a full-fledged job and not soon after it required hiring a "Computer nerd", which would be me, Doug Palmer.
I joined SMART Rec Parts in the winter of 2003, it was my job to update our extremely user-UNfreindly website to something the average user could navigate, that and answer the phone whenever it rang with orders. I had a great time and fully enjoyed my job.
I stayed with the company for the next 6-7 years and in the Spring of 2010 I purchased the company and brought it to it's first retail location in North Walpole, NH. Only a year later we had outgrown the space in North Walpole and made the move to our current location in Keene, NH at 24 Production Ave.
The decision to change the name of the business to SMART Power Sports was something I had wanted to do for quite some time, I really feel it portrays the products we sell a lot better and I hope you agree.
SMART Power Sports is a lean operation, during the slow seasons I cover most of the day to day tasks, and when things ramp up in the busy seasons I have a few highly knowledgeable, and customer-service oriented individuals who help take orders and make our worldwide shipments.
